NAME: "The" LambAGE: Roughly 100~500 years old (Physically in their early 20s)SPECIES: Lamb / GOD / VesselGENDER: Above the concept (Nonbinary/Agender)PRONOUNS: they / itROLE: Unwilling sacrifice / Cult Leader / HERETICHEIGHT: short, physically stunted

twas not so long ago, it would seem, that you were once regarded as nobody especially important. just a humble lamb, living peacefully within your quiet, secluded village; a gentle existence, to be sure, at least when compared to the outside world. your people were plentiful, and though the world outside was a dangerous, dreadful affair, you were safe so long as you were together. together, and only together, you would overcome any obstacle-- for what is a lamb without their flock? a tender meal, an easy sacrifice...nothing without a shepherd to guide them. the outside world is unsafe, they'd say. we are safe, so long as we remain together. twas not so long ago that you believed this-- you, and everyone else in your flock. you had never known any different, after all.twas not long ago at all, that the cultists came in quietly under the guise of night. you were away from the flock when they came-- your first cardinal sin, perhaps, though only the first of many more to come. for you see, though you may have once called yourself a lamb, you were never content to live as simply as one. twas not so long ago that you were a lamb with hopes and dreams, with aspirations of leaving the flock behind and finding your own way in life. and though the village elders would surely deny any request you made to leave, they could not deny that which they were unaware of. twas not long ago that you began your nightly ritual of leaving the flock, leaving their sacred protection behind in favor of the stars. for though you had always been much like a lamb, soft of body and heart, you had always been clever as the fox is, as swift as the wolf, as brave as the lion...and though it was not so long ago at all that you had returned home that fateful night, made full by the very hopes that would soon become your own self fulfilling prophecy, only to find that there was nothing left of the village that you had once called your home-- nothing left but corpse and ash, bloodied blades and broken screams. twas not so long ago at all that you realized the truth. that it did not matter whether you hid yourselves away or not; that nothing could have stopped the course of fate itself. for in that moment, in a time that truly was not so long ago, you had ceased to be "just" a lamb. for as you gazed out at the wanton destruction of all you had ever known, all you would ever be, and all you could have been, it became clear that this was the end...an inevitability, even as you attempted to flee from your destiny and left the flock behind to their untimely demise.it is true, you think to yourself now. it was not so long ago at all that you were once considered something that could call itself alive, that your heart once beat in your chest with the same glorious innocence shared between all mortal beings. that you were, at one point in time, something that could have been considered a lamb. twas not so long ago, by any definition of the word, and yet to the you of now, it feels as though it has been an eternity...

the lamb was once an animal not much different than any other random village-dwelling animal you can find living throughout the lands of the old faith. alone, they are weak and have no inherent powers or abilities. nevertheless, when the bishops of the old faith called for the culling of the lambs in an attempt to prevent a prophecy foretelling their doom at the hands of "the last lamb..."...they obviously end up sealing their own fates. needless to say things Do Not Go As Planned for anyone involved: as the last lamb to be sacrificed in the name of the old faith, the prophecy is made to come true through their own actions. at their death, the lamb is essentially forced into the role of donning the red crown regardless of their own will, at the behest of a chained god known as the one who waits, who offers them immortality on the condition that they start a cult in his name. essentially stuck in a catch-22 situation where they are unable to deny the will of a god, and perhaps feeling a tad bit reasonably vengeful due to the fact that, y'know, all their friends and family are fucking dead now, the lamb accepts, becoming a (questionably) loyal vessel and prophet of the one who waits. with the newfound power of the crown, the lamb is granted a variety of abilities, including but not limited to: supernatural combat prowess, telekinesis, conditional immortality, mind reading, the ability to cast "curses", and the (limited) ability to revive the dead. with their power now rivaling that of the bishops that once called for their death, they are able to return to the world of the living and exact their revenge as they see fit. not exactly an ideal scenario for a peaceful little lamb, but not really as bad of a deal as eternal suffering and agony is, right?...unfortunately for them, most of their newfound life is spent either babysitting a bunch of wild animals who are hellbent on badgering them for the most ridiculous of requests, or fighting against an endless army of heretics who would gleefully see them dead for daring to commit the high crime of being the most unfortunate lamb in the universe. to make matters considerably worse, the crown constantly demands new followers and sacrifice; should the lamb fail to recruit new cultists for too long, their immortality will be revoked. power comes at a price, after all...

need an explanation on how these verses work? check here!

CANON END: this lamb would not go so willingly into the night, would not allow itself the carnal pleasures of hellfire and brimstone. this lamb would not give in, would not condemn another animal to live through the same fate it once had. this lamb would create a religion of peace, a beacon of shining hope throughout the lands now ravaged by heretics and false idols. this lamb would rebuild its flock, accepting only those who would come willingly. this lamb would be carried forward only through the hope of one day regaining everything it had lost when it had become the lamb.

BAD END: this lamb was, above anything and everything else, loyal. this lamb, who once had no quarrel with anyone, became fiercely devoted through the manipulation of it's master. this lamb would do anything it's master asked of it, and would do it with a smile. this lamb ruled through fear and intimidation, through sacrifice and bloodshed. crusade after crusade unending, unflinching, even in the face of death himself. for what is death but a mere inconvenience when you have the power of a god to guide you forward? for what is the lamb without it's shepherd?this little lamb did not think to question who would bear the crown once they had succeeded...

TRUE END: this lamb was not content to merely succeed in it's goal, oh no. this lamb wanted to do it all-- everything, anything, whatever it took to become the best of the best. this lamb did not merely wish to stop at experiencing the world outside of it's pasture-- consumed by a desperate desire to understand what had happened to it, what it had become, what it was to become, what it could have been...this lamb has seen it all. time and time again, the bishops fell before it. time and time again, it watched as the ones it once cared for suffered and died. time and time again, it has seen defeat at the hands of all, and has in turn defeated all who would stand before it. time after time after time after time, it has remained the only thing left in the end. time after time after time after time, it has tried to change it's fate, only to end up exactly where it was before.time after time again and again, repeating infinitely forevermore, five became four became three became two became one became...nothing. nothing at all.time and time again, the lamb has learned that it is lonely at the top of the world...

to start things off, it's important to note that each of the verses is not inherently good OR evil; they are ALL morally grey to different degrees, and can be both redeemed or made worse than they already are. moving on from that, however...!!!! SPOILERS BENEATH THIS POINT, BE AWARE !!!CANON END: the canonical ending of the game. lamb is mostly motivated by their desire to protect their flock, follows the more "benevolent" doctrines you can choose from, and is generally trying their best to make something good out of the horrible situation they've found themselves in. by the end, they have spared their god and he is living with them as a follower.TRUE END: based around a 100% playthrough of the game, where you follow through with all of the side-quests and the deaths that entail alongside them. their main goal is to protect themselves and their happiness/freedom, they have a mixture of positive and negative beliefs, and they have killed off their god as revenge (if only for the time being, at any rate...)BAD END: following the bad ending of the game, this lamb is very loyal to their malevolent god and only wishes for his freedom/praise. this verse is known for following the darkest doctrines in the game; you will see the heaviest topics on this blog, and where they will likely be at their worst; however, it is key to note that they do truly believe in his word fully, and think that they're doing the right thing.
